USB Connection not recognized in Win Vista

The Windows Vista doesn't seem to recognize any music devices. Whenever I plug my phone into my PC, it doesn't recognize that there is a USB connection. All I hear is the noise of plug-in indicating that the computer has noticed a plugged in device but it won’t show up under the My Computer tree. What can I do?

That may be caused by lack of USB drivers on your computer, and therefore the USB devices that you connected to the computer will not be opened. You will need to access the device manager and install the USB drivers as follows:

  • Click start on your computer.
  • Locate My Computer and right click on it.
  • And then click on system properties.
  • A window will open, and in it you will look for Device Manager and click on it.
  • In the device manager window, you will need to locate the USB drivers’ option and the right click on it.
  • Update the drivers online; you will need to be connected to the internet for the drivers will be looked for online and installed.
