Unresponsive Firefox Script error issue

Hi!

Recently, I have  started playing Farmville and notice that my browser screen freezes about every minute or two. Thereafter,  I receive a message telling me that there is an unresponsive script.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ60 laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate installed. Mozilla Firefox is my default browser.

When I check,  in task manager, I see that Firefox is unnresponsive. I also see that Adobe Flash Player is also unresponsive.

If I choose to end the unresponsive programs and start my browser back up, the same thing happens. If I do not end the unresponsive programs, then after a while the problem goes away, but then reoccurs after a few minutes.

What can be the cause of the unresponsive script?

Awaiting for your answers.

Thanks.

Unresponsive Firefox Script error issue

Hi there!

That error can be caused by either Firefox thinks a script is running out of control for a certain site or a certain plug in for your Firefox is causing it. What you can try to do in this situation is to extend how scripts should be allowed to run on Firefox.

  1. First, type in about:config in your Firefox browser and press enter.
  2. You'll see a warning, click I'll be careful, I promise!
  3. Once you're entered, look for dom.max_script_run_time and double click on it.
  4. Enter the value 20 in the Enter integer value
  5. Press OK.

This should give scripts more time to run and hopefully fix your problem. You can also try disabling Firefox add-ons that might be causing the problem, in your case, the  Adobe Flash Player.
