Hi All,

I am with Sean Tvelia's procedure on How to create DEM is by utilizing” Global Mapper” and later on Importing to 3D position data form, I am discouraged with an error window box:

"Unable to form an elevation grid from 3D point data from …" you can see above error window

Unable to form an elevation grid from 3D point data

Hello My Dear Friend,

I think the 3D point data cannot be found in the file that you are loading. What type of file you are loading?

You can resolve this issue by following some steps.

You need to try to load data at point, line and area features. When you have the lines in, open the options for layer and choose to use ZV2 for elevations. After that, right click on Layer, select Create an elevation grid from the data.

There is also another way to solve this issue.

You can open your file in text document and then search this value -999999 and replace it with empty.
