Unable to access BIOS in My Mesh Matrix 3000 with Windows XP

Hello TechyV buddies!

I am having some problems with my Mesh matrix 3000 with windows XP OS. Every time I switch it on, the windows loads but the keyboard and mouse are not functioning. The two were ps2 types and they are on good condition. When I tried to switch it to USB keyboard and mouse, it made the computer to function normally. However it also made my BIOS inaccessible which made me unsolved my PS@2problems. My usb ports became active after the POST.

Can you tell me what could have caused this problem?

I am looking forward for a reliable answer to this issue.

Thank you!

Hello Carlton,

Some computers require that the USB devices be connected to them when the computer loads so that they can function, and therefore if you are booting the computer and then connecting the devices later, the devices will not work. To resolve that issue, you will need to do the following:

  • Connect the mouse as well as the keyboard.
  • And then restart the computer with the mouse and keyboard already connected.
  • They should work properly if you do it that way.
  • Otherwise, if the procedure above does not work, you will need to check the ports on your computer, test them with other USB devices and make sure that they are working properly. Check the mouse and the keyboard and make sure that they are not faulty.

Regards,

Carl

Dear User,

Follow these steps,

First try a different set of PS/2 Mouse and keyboard. If this works go to bios and in USB settings enable USB legacy.

When you enable it your USB keyboard should work when the computer boots up

However if changing PS/2 keyboard and mouse doesn’t fix the problem. my opinion is your motherboard is not working properly. Probably the PS/2 ports

I would recommend you to claim your warranty if so.

Thank you
