I have recently shifted to Linux operating system. Earlier, I was using the Windows operating system. I had installed VMware and its tools on it. How can I do the VMware Tools installation for Linux?

Steps For VMware Tools Installation In Linux

This solution provides steps to install VMware Tools in Linux based operating systems using a compiler.

1. Power on your Linux virtual machine.
2. Open the terminal or command shell.
3. You need to log in as asudo user.
4. Run the command mkdir/mnt/cdrom after inserting the VMware CD.
5. Now copy the files to a local directory.
6. Extract this file.

If you have a GUI interface, you can install as follows.

1. Run the CD
2. In the disk drive, click on VM. Then select the option to install/upgrade VMware Tools.
3. Extract the zip file.
