I am getting an error with SQL Writer prompt box stating, “SQLDUMPLER library failed initialization.

Your Installation is either corrupt or has been tempered with.

Please uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem.

This error is appearing every time I boot up and clicking the OK button will make my computer continue working, but I think it is now interfering with some of my programs that are actively running.

What is this error and how should I fix it?

There are many ways you can stop this error.

Solution A:

Click Start then Settings > Control panel > Add remove programs > Find the Microsoft SQL Server VSS Writer and uninstall it. Now reboot the computer and your problem / error will be gone.

Solution B:

Reinstall the SQL server & VSS Writer again.

Solution C:

If you do not need to use SQL, uninstall SQL related all programs from the control panel.

Solution D:

Click Start > Click run > type msconfig > Click OK. You will get Windows system configuration utility. Click the Start-up Tab. Now, scroll down and find any running programs related to SQL. If you find one, uncheck it and click apply. The PC will tell you to restart and restart the PC. After PC boots up & if any box appears, then click ok. Now click start and run again and type services.msc. Press OK. In the services box, scroll down and find MySQL. Right click the mysql and click stop. Restart your computer. You will be free from error.

Solution F:

Sometimes uninstalling any program will remove/delete a specific file related to SQL server. Try to remember what program you uninstalled before, and installed that program.
