Dear friends,

I wanted to uninstall the connect server 6.7 and install CS 6.5 sp1. I uninstalled the CS 6.7 successfully, but during the installation of CS 6.5 sp 1, I am met with an error. The screenshot of the error is as follows:

Documentum content server installer

The error says:

'Error message displaying as CS 6.5 will not be installed. A more recent version (6.7) is already installed at C:Documentum.'

I have already installed it and deleted all its folders and verified registries from C drive.

What else should I delete from my system to avoid this message in the future?

Please guide me regarding the issue.

Waiting for your suggestions.

Thanking you.

Hello Pamela

When you uninstall a program, not all the documents were removed also from your system files. There is a need for you to clean them up and make sure no other traces could be seen in your classpath. You can check also c:\DCTMDocumentum.

Make sure you reboot your computer between installing and uninstalling the software.

Hi Pamela Opland,

Agail etthan is absolutely right. When you uninstall a program, some its data are not completely removed & can cause this kind of problem. On some cases, some damaged or previous registry entry can hamper your installation. So, you should clean your registry to remove the old entry. There are various softwares for this. My recommendation would be to use CCleaner which is available in this link: http://download.cnet.com/ccleaner/. It removes old registry entry, cookies, and temporary files. After cleaning your pc with this, your problem should be removed.
