Unable to import protected file format on iPod Classic

I owned an iPod Classic and I am trying to import a WMA file on it but an error box is appearing stating that the file could not be converted because it is in protected WMA format. Do I need to convert the file before I can import it? If so, what software is best to use and where can I download it?

Unable to import protected file format on iPod Classic

Probably you will need to convert the file before you import it. You could also try removing the protection from the .wma format file, because that protection is likely to have caused by the way you saved the file. In case you need to convert the files, then the best software that I will recommend that you use for the conversion is the following:

• Xilisoft converter.

You can get if for free from the internet, and to be specific from the following site: http://www.xilisoft.com/video-converter.html

You can use the application to convert the wma format file to other range of video formats that will make it be possible to import the file. In case you need to convert audio files too, the application will be useful there too.

As we know that the music purchased from Windows Media online stores are encrypted by Microsoft DRM (Digital Rights Management) License which don't allow users to play the protected content on other media players like Apple's iTunes, iPod, iPhone, so we need a DRM stripper to remove this copy protection.
