Hi experts ,

I am having trouble with my Excel file and here is the situation. I have placed in Column A,  list of names while I placed in Column B the details pertaining to those names.

What I need to know is if there is a way for me to enter all the details pertaining to each name without having the cells overlap with one another.

I hope you can help me with my problem?

Thank you.

Hallo Mona,

For sure there is a way that you can use to check and ensure that your excels files do not overlap. With the excel document open, point the cursor to the line that separates the two columns at the top where you see letters.

The cursor should change to a plus (+) sign. Using your mouse or the keyboard mouse pad, left click to hold the line and then drag it to the right so as to expand those particular cells.

Do that for all the columns that overlap to expand them.

According to your requirement you want to have all the names in Column A and the details pertaining to each name should be in column B. I think the problem that you have is, if you type more details in a cell in column B whether it will overlap the other cells.

First type all the details in a one cell in column B which is pertaining to them name in column A.

Please see the image below.

In the above image details of the Cell B3 seems to be overlap the other Cells (Cell C3, D3, E3, F3, G3, H3)

In order to avoid the above issue you can use “wrap text” option.

Click on the entire Column B and click on the wrap text option in alignment tab.

Now you can adjust the row (Step 1) and the column(step 2) as to details is properly shown.
