SolidWorks 2010 is not responding

I upgraded my OS to Windows 7 and then installed SolidWorks 2010 for doing my work. And then, I upgraded to SW2011 for a client. Since then, I started receiving a message:

SldWorks

SldWorks is not responding

Windows is checking for a solution to the problem…

Cancel

I could not access my work and the program just stops on responding. When I click on the Cancel button, the message will just disappear and then I have to restart my computer to access it again.

What seems to be the problem?

What should I do?

Hi Mark Davis.

The error message indicates that one the dll file has failed to load that interrupting the installation. This could happen if the disc or the source you are trying to install from is corrupted. You can contact Solid Works Support to obtain the source and report them about the issue. You can follow the below link that will give you the information to contact Solidworks support:

http://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/customer-software-support.htm

Before you contact the support, you can try the below step and check if you are still not able to install the software. If you are installing from the CD, browse through the CD and locate the installation file and ‘Run as Administrator’.

a. Insert the disc from which you are trying to install the software.

b. Browse through the CD and locate the file, the .exe file for installing.

c. Right click on the file and ‘Run as Administrator.

Here are the requirements of SolidWorks for Windows7
