What do you call a software that is installed alongside with other software or via ActiveX that controls on the internet without full disclosure that it will be used for gathering personal information.
It also uses the CPU, RAM, and resources of the user's computer, making the user pay for the costs associated with operating it?

Software that is installed via Active X
The answer to your question is: Advertising Spyware.
It logs information about the user like name, age, gender, passwords, email, web browsing history etc.
It also gets the information about the user's computer hardware and software configuration.
It can also cause the computer's system and browser slow and unstable.
Network and internet bandwidth is also being used which results to a slower access to legitimate sites.
Signs that your computer is infected by it???
-
When you turn on your PC, it is slower than usual and there is an unusual spinning sound in your hard drive.
-
When you visit Google, an advertisement pops up which is you know, not normal for Google do not allow pop-up ads.
