To which connection are you connected to directly? The LAN one or the dial up?
However I am going to give you a general idea on how to accomplish this no matter what type of connection you have.

Start up your lotus notes.

As soon as the server hits the message with the lotus notes being connected, save a copy of the link file to any directory on the server.

Upon saving it will ask you for the file name and path of the file. Do it.

Now when you connect with a dial up if you have first used the LAN, then you will see the dialog box again, just quickly point it to that path where you saved the first link file when you were connected to the LAN.
This is how you won't be needing the extra one link for each file.
