Hi All

I have a USB drive of 300 GB. When I connect a USB drive to my computer, then windows dialog box prompts me that, the drive is not formatted. Using a diagnostic tool I found out MBR of my external hard disk is corrupted. The data still present in my drive.

Is there any way out to fix this issue? Please suggest me what to do for the restores USB boot record.

Thanks.

Dear Benjamin,

To fix this issue you can follow one of the following steps or use both of them:

First one, you should rescue your data by using (recover my files program) which can be found in the following URL:

Second solution, the best way to restore your boot file is by formatting your drive using quick format or you can install the boot files from the following site:

Hi Benjamin,

Hope you are fine.

This is a common problem with most of the Usb's bootloader and boot menu. But don't worry, every problem has a solution. So I am giving you an authentication solution.

Follow these steps.

1. Download Testdisk from cnet.com.

2. Connect your USB to the PC.

3. Run the application and select analyze disk (it takes 15 min).

4. The analysis indicates that the data is intact but MBR is corrupted.

5. Select Rebuild MBR.

This is what is suggested to do. Let me know your USB manufacturer. It usually happens to western digital subs.

Thanks.
