Provisioning services target device software failed to install

Hi,

 

I was trying to install Citrix Provisioning Services Target Devices 64 bit program but I received the following error message saying “The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect”. Is this connection problem or anything else? I attempted all correctly so why this error come? I want to remove this immediately so please provide solution.

Provisioning services target device software failed to install

Regarding a potential fix  ( which indicated the event was due to a previous failed attempt at establishing the target device software). I checked the following registry key:

HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicesCitrix_XipClientService

How ever, as this was the first time I had tried to install the software, these keys did not already exist.

After further troubleshooting, I found the issue to be caused by Citrix Xen Server Tools that were installed on the virtual machine. Sure enough, after uninstalling Citrix Xen Tools, this allowed the install of the PVS target device software to complete successfully. I was then able to re-install Citrix Xen Tools and complete my v Disk conversion.
