I was using XP operating system. Day before yesterday night I have started to format my Computer. After starting it stuck after 9 % compilation. I left it for that night.  Yesterday morning again I started trying with another new CD. But again it has been stopped after 98% compilation.

I am little bit worried. Suggestion is needed to fix the problem.

Are you saying the format operation got stuck at 9% and 98%?  The problem is not with the installer CD but on your hard disk.

If your hard disk is still within warranty, then I suggest get a replacement either from the shop you bought it from or from the manufacturer.

If you would rather fix it yourself then find out what the brand of your hard disk is, go to the manufacturer website and download their tools for diagnosing and repairing of their hard drives.

If your hard drive is from Seagate, go to www.seagate.com.  Go to Support -> Downloads and download SeaTools.  Install and run SeaTools and look for the "Zero fill" option.  Do a Zero fill (full) to remove any bad sectors on your hard drive.  I must warn you though that this operation will delete all data on all partitions of your hard drive.

Hope this helps.
