Hi There!

I operate my computer for only personal use. Because it has some private and important secure documents.

Today when I want to enter that's secure folder, but I cannot access it.

It is fully hidden. I mean that some virus has been detected my folder.

Tell me how can I get back my documents folder with my all documents?

Hello,

The files and folders might have been hidden and not accessible. I would say that the folder was not deleted by virus. To show and display hidden files and folders, here are the steps and just follow the instructions below.

  • You need to click on Start, then go to Control Panel.
  • Look for Appearance and Themes then choose Folder Options.
  • Go  to View tab, under Hidden files and folders and you need to click show hidden files and folders.

This should display the hidden files and you should be able to view your secured documents. Hope this helps.

Hello Mr. Neil eppley,

Solution:

I read your problem. But I Think this is not very critical problem. Now I try to give some workable solution for your problem. Please read the below solution and work step by step then I think you will cover up the problem.

I think the files that you talked about is must be hidden. It is not detected by virus. To access the folder you have to do following steps :-

 • First go to control panel.
 • Then click on Appearance and Themes.
 • Then choose folder option.
 • Then go to view tab.
 • Then you can see hidden file and folders.
 • Then click show hidden files and folders.

Or you can follow these steps too :-

 • Go to the folder where it saved.
 • Then go tools tab.
 • Then select folder option.
 • Then you find hidden files and folder.
 • Under the hidden files and folder you click on show hidden files and folder.

By doing this you can access that folder which is hidden.

I hope your problem has been solved by these solution.

Thanks from Arafat Hossain.

Hi Neil,

You stated that you can not access a secured folder in your computer and have suspected that your computer might be infected by a virus and could be the cause why the folder is inaccessible, please follow the following steps to recover the documents on that folder:

  1. Check if you have an updated anti-virus, else obtain an updated anti-virus and perform a complete scan on your system. Make sure that there are no viruses found in your system. some viruses are able to replicate your files and folders.
  2. To determine if your folder is hidden, do the following steps:
  • Click the Start button on your desktop and go to Control Panel,
  • If the Control Panel is in Category View click on Appearance and Themes the proceed to step 3, if Control Panel is in Classic View proceed directly to next step.
  • Open or double-click on Folder Options, then click on View tab, look for the Hidden files and folders sub-menu, then on the Advanced Settings make sure the button is clicked on Show hidden files and folders. Click OK and go back to your desktop. then continue to step 4 below.

You may also follow these steps:

  • Right click the Start button on your desktop. Select Explore, then click on Tools, then click on View tab, Look for Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files and folders button.
  • On windows explorer look for the folder that you said was hidden. This time all hidden files and folders must be visible already and should be accessible as well. Optional – To remove the hidden attributes of the folder, right click on the folder with the hidden attribute then uncheck the Hidden Attributes under the General tab of the NetHood Properties dialog box.

I hope that above steps helped solved your problem.

Thanks,

Miller D.
