This error occurs when either you have incorrect bios settings or have an additional faulty ram.

Try one of the methods and you’ll be able to install xp.

  1. Restore the default settings of the BIOS. Contact the manufacturer for any updates if there.
  2. Remove the Random access memory and try installing it again, it will work only if you remove the faulty ram in case if you have more than one ram attached in the motherboard.

Thanks.

This problem can happen when you are installing Microsoft Windows during the text-mode portion of the Windows setup. When this problem is encountered, setup may become unresponsive and you may receive the error message. The full error message reads “The file I386\Ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded. The error code is 7” or “The file I386\L_intl.nlf could not be loaded. The error code is 7”.

This error will prevent you from installing Microsoft Windows. One possible cause of the error is incorrect BIOS configuration. Another possible cause is faulty memory module. To fix it, try restoring your computer’s BIOS back to its default settings. Restart your CPU then press F2 or DELETE to go to the BIOS. Check the appropriate key during POST to learn how to access the BIOS.

In the BIOS, press the key to load the default settings. After this, save the new configuration then restart your computer. Try installing Windows again and see if it works.
