To I reinstalled the older driver I had before. But it did not help. What could I do next to troubleshoot my monitor and fix my problem?

Hey Pal! Before you replace the monitor or think of doing so, its advisable to counter check where the problem really is. In a technical point of view, I would consider that you check one thing at a time. Start with the monitor itself, connect it to another PC or laptop and see how it behaves, next, (if possible) connect another monitor to the same VGA card and see its behavior too. This way, you will be able to isolate problem after problem. If indeed the monitor has the issue, try adjusting the ‘Screen Refresh Rate’ from the Display properties > Advanced. Change from 60 Hertz to 65 Hertz all the way to 75 Hertz and Apply while noting the effects of each. You could also check that the VGA cable is well connected and secured in place. Mostly when the cable starts to wear out, the screen will start showing funny colors as well as flickering (at times). If the screen is OK and you test the VGA card on another screen and indeed find out that it’s the VGA card, try removing its drivers completely from the system, plug it on another slot (if possible) and install the drivers again. I hope this is helpful. Regards

If you have an AOC monitor and the flickering problem started happening after you made an update to the video card’s driver, there are several possible reasons what might caused the problem: it can be the video port of the video card where your monitor is plugged, it can be the driver you installed, it can be the video card, or it can also be the monitor itself.

To troubleshoot the problem, first, try checking the cable of your monitor connected to the video port. Unplug the monitor cable from the video port then plug it back in. See if this works. If this doesn’t work, try connecting the monitor to a different CPU then see if it works there. If it’s not working there, you probably need to replace your monitor.

But if the monitor is working there, go back to your computer then uninstall and reinstall the video card driver. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select your video card software among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click to restart later.

When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then restart the computer. After booting, install the old video card software back then see if it works. If this doesn’t work, download the latest.

Go to ATI Radeon HD 5670 Drivers & Support, select your correct operating system, and download the driver. See if this works. If this doesn’t work, disconnect and reconnect the video card from the slot on your motherboard. You can only do this if you have a dedicated video card. If you are using your motherboard’s built-in video card, skip this test.

In this case, the video card probably needs a replacement.
