My HP Laptop doesn’t turn on. Even though the charger is plugged in and the battery is charged, neither do the LEDs blink nor does the screen starts up. How do I fix it?

There might be several reasons for your HP device not starting up, ranging from a hard disk crash to a burnt battery. If none of the following solutions works for you, I would recommend you taking the device to an authorised service centre.

Possible Solutions:

• Perform a hard reset on the laptop. To do this, follow the following steps:

1. Remove all sort of USB devices, media cards from the laptop and disconnect it from any printer or projector.

2. Disconnect the AC power supply, remove the battery and press down the power button for 20 seconds.

3. Reconnect the AC cord but do not insert the battery. Switch on the device. If it starts up normally, you are good to go. Re-insert the battery and continue using.

• If the hard reset did not work for you, then check whether the AC cable is working or not:

1. Try using a different AC cable.

2. Check the output voltage the AC cable is providing using a voltmeter. A voltage lower than that specified may cause physical damage to the laptop. These might help you troubleshoot the device. If the laptop still doesn’t show any signs of turning on, try contacting an authorised personnel.
