I have a couple of questions regarding my laptop. Will my laptop be damaged if I change the voltage? And are hotels nowadays equipped with high speed wi-fi connection? Thank you for your time.

For sure you can change your laptop voltage. And that will not affect your system in a tragic way though it will have an effect on how the system performs the processing functions. When you reduce the voltage that the computer uses, the performance will slow down, hence having an effect on processes that need more energy like gaming and watching movies and thus you may find them stalling.
But if you intend to use the computer for the normal basic functions like creating and editing documents in the word editor, transferring files and other basic functions then there will not be a problem at all.
About the hotels, most of them right have Wi-Fi connection which should be of high speed.

What do you mean by change the voltage? If you mean the voltage that is supplied to the charger, it should be fine as long as your charger supports an auto voltage feature which allows connection to 100V-220V outlets. If you mean the voltage supplied to the computer itself, you may not be able to do that as that is handled by the battery and the battery has a fixed voltage value. Many of the hotels and motels these days have free wireless connections that you can avail of, you just have to check with their helpdesk for instructions on how to get your device/s connected.
