After finish installing my Microsoft Windows XP operating system, I have removed the Installation disk on my CD Drive then I close it. I need to stall my operating Microsoft office so I open then CD ROM, surprisingly the drive couldn’t open anymore. I couldn’t afford to buy a new CD ROM at this time so please help me to figure this out.

Your CD ROMs problem is the O-ring or the rubber belt inside the mechanism of your CD ROM Drive. The dynamo that pulls the rubber to eject the tray doesn’t fit to the rubber anymore. The rubber might loose because maybe it is too old now since you have purchase your CD Rom Drive.

If you have computer store or electronic store near in your area, bring your CD ROM to then and ask for the replacement of the rubber belt inside the CD ROM drive. If there’s none, we have no choice but to force the CD ROM to eject.

Here’s how to force the CD ROM. Look for a tiny hole in the front panel of your CD ROM then grab a piece of paper clip and make it straight. Insert the straighten paper clip inside the tiny hole on the CD ROM front panel and push it gently while pressing the eject button on the CD ROM front panel. Repeat it until the CD ROM was finally ejected.
