Multiple problems with operating different applications

Hi experts

I am running Windows XP Operating System and Hardware Profiles are fixed. I am facing the following problem:

I am unable to run many of my applications. Earlier I was listed as Thread #90708 in the Malware Removal forum. After removing the entire threats, they warned me to set up a new thread here.

Then I tried to open an application such as QuickTime Player and I got the following message:

QuickTime Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I tried to uninstall it so that I can reinstall QuickTime. But then I got the following error message:

Unhandled Exception

Error Number: 0x80040707

Description: DLL function call crashed: QTInstallCode.QuickTimeUnInstallProc

Setup will now terminate.

This error is followed by the following error message:

The instruction at “0x66834190” referenced memory at “0xffffffff”. The memory could not be “written”. Click on OK to terminate the program

This happens with ITunes. Also I have noticed the same error with Dell Support and Dell Jukebox by Musicmatch doesn’t work.

Earlier I needed to shutdown Windows Defender which had a same error.

Moreover when I try to reboot, I get a message that shows that Norton Antivirus is not turned on but it should have been.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

In your problem and according to my research this is the solution I found out.

This is what you need to do 1st is download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC:

Here is the download link

Next use the QuickTime component of the complete uninstall instructions in the following document as a guide to a manual removal of leftover QuickTime program files and folders.

Once we've got all the existing QuickTime scraped away, let's try a standalone latest QuickTime version download and reinstall, taking a few additional precautions.

Download and save a copy of the Latest QuickTime that has is a standalone installer to your hard drive.

Switch off antivirus and anti spyware application when having the installation.
