MS Word could not recover document after crashing

Asked By 10 points N/A Posted on -

My Microsoft Office Word crashed and the error reported that the information or the document I am working might be lost, Microsoft Office Word can try to recover it for me.

And I check the option Recover my work and restart Microsoft Office Word giving the assurance that my work might be recovered.

This happened to me almost always within one hour and after the application restart, nothing is recovered.

Could you please tell me what do?

MS Word could not recover document after crashing

This problem may occur when MS Word is set up to use compatibility preferences for an earlier Operating System of Windows.

In order to overcome this problem. You can take following steps.

  • Check where your Microsoft Office is installed.
  • The default location is program files but you may have installed Microsoft Office some where else.
  • Let suppose that you have installed it on %programfiles%Microsoft OfficeOffice
  • Now go to the location or folder where the Word program files are installed.
  • Right-click Winword.exe, and then click Properties.
  • Click the Compatibility tab, click to clear all the check boxes, and then click OK.
  • Now restart your program and run it.

Hi Dear,

Thanks for sharing your problem with us.

My dear it seems that you have not turned on the auto recovery option. Or the version compatibility issue may also be occurred.

To turn this option on, kindly click on the office button on the top left corner, then choose word options.

A dialog box will appear, choose "Save" in that box and then check in the check box of "save auto recovery information" and set the minimum time to auto save.

This time will as minimum will better for backup.
