I downloaded Linux Mint and then burned it on a DVD and installed refit but the disc can not boot than the linux icon showed up in the middle than screen didint loaded I hold c while PC started it started to work than a black screen came some text came on the screen but the screen went black again. I have 8-core Intel Mac not sure what I am doing wrong can any body advice me about the problem.

You are saying that you downloaded your Linux mint, then burnt it on to a DVD, but then it refused to install, right? Well, I suspect that the Linux mint you downloaded is corrupt. So you can go and download another copy but then you do not have to necessarily burn it to a disc, you can execute it from a flash drive and see if it works instead of burning it a DVD and later finding out that it cannot work. download from legit sites only, ensure you check that the health of the setup is good, review the comments of the people that have downloaded it before you, if they expressed satisfaction with that setup or not.
Not all softwares that are posted online are good, some are corrupt and cannot work at all.
