Manual WiFi switch not working in Ubuntu

Hi,

I have a Dell Latitude E6540 and I have installed both Windows 8 and Ubuntu 13.10 operating systems but on windows, when I manually switch off Blue tooth/WiFi, both WiFi and Bluetooth are off, but in Ubuntu only the Bluetooth is off but WifI stays on when the manual switch is off, what could be the cause of this? How can a manual switch (which is supposed to switch off both WiFi and Bluetooth) switch off one of the feature leaving the other one?

Manual WiFi switch not working in Ubuntu

Hi Frank,

There are several causes that may be the cause of this problem, but the major cause being ACPI, which stands for Advanced Configuration and Power Interface and is what “rfkill” usually uses. They may have turned off the function of the key you have been trying to use and there are no assurances that the key will function the same way it did again. Alternatively, it may be a Bios bug problem that has caused this problem. I hope this information helps.
