Acer Aspire S7 dual boot problem

Hi there,

I have installed Windows 8 alongside Ubuntu 13.10 on my Acer Aspire S7, it was working well until I updated to Windows 8.1, each time I try to boot by selecting either Windows or Ubuntu, the computer restarts automatically, I don't want to lose either of the OS, how do I solve this one, What could be the reason for the restart?

Acer Aspire S7 dual boot problem

Hi !

When you have updated the Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 some new files were copied and replace the old ones. Now the new files also changed the Ubuntu OS settings. To solve this problem when your laptop is booting press F8 and run a System Recovery Repair, and boot your Windows DVD and run a repair of Windows 8. If these settings can't make your Windows run again you will have to make a new clean install of both OS.
