Laptop battery Overheating while in use

I have a 6 cell laptop battery that seems to be overheating while in use, even after removing the charger it still overheats. Could this be a sign of a short circuit? What is the remedy for this, I cannot put the laptop on my laps while operating for I fear getting burns. Could this be a battery problem?

No. I don't think that its a battery problem. Your cooler is not working properly. That's why your battery is overheating while it is in use. There are two solutions of it.

1. Either you can change your cooler.

2. Or you can use an external cooler.

I think these will help you. There are many external cooler in market. Pick any of them.
