Hi TechyV users!
I have DRM that I want to remove. But it seems that I don’t know how to do it.
Here is my question, Is it possible for Linux remove adobe DRM?
Are there ways or methods to remove it?
Are there software to install to remove DRM?
My friend says that there is also a plug – in that I need to download and install but he doesn’t say what it is. What is this plug – in?
Any comments would be a big help.
Thanks.

Is it possible for Linux remove adobe DRM
Philip,
For those who are not familiar with DRM (Digital right Management) it is intended to prevent unauthorized use. You can't Freely share the file you bought. Most DRM removal tools should be compatible with Linux.
Your friend can be talking about the DeDRM plugin for calibre. It is an open source, eBook management and a conversion utility it is maintained by Kovid Goyal. In order for you to use the DeDRM plugin for calibre, it's necessary to install calibre first. You can download the latest Version from https://calibre-ebook.com/download.
Now, on how to remove Adobe DRM you can use an Adobe EPUB Removal, it can help you read your adobe PDF eBook on many devices or computers as well, it's an easy-to-use interface it can easily remove adobe DRM.Â
It creates a new eBook file that you can view with many devices w/o limitations. In order to remove DRM you have to check if the file has or doesn't have DRM.
If your file is protected by DRM you will not be able to read it when using Adobe Reader you will see a prompt telling that the document requires DRM features supported by Adobe Digital Editions.Â
And will ask you if you like to open it in The Digital Editions. You cannot read and convert books with DRM, in order to convert files PDF, WORD, MOBI etc.
You need to remove the DRM first. Before removing DRM, make sure that you can use books normally. In removing DRM you can use Adobe Digital Edition in downloading the book.
To remove DRM from Adobe start the DRM conversion process, download DRM removal for Linux. Open the file you which you need to convert you can open more than one file one time.
If you can't manually find the files you can click on "Find Files" Button the computer will automatically find the files in your computer. Once you have your files already open just click on "Start" button all the DRM will be removed in a few Minutes. Once DRM is removed books will be put into the "Output Folder" then you just need to click on "view" to view the new books.

Is it possible for Linux remove adobe DRM
Hi Phillip,
Yes, it's possible to remove the ADOBE DRM for Linux. Make sure you have Python installed. If not, download it using your standard methods for finding applications. Make sure you install Python 2.6, not the new 3.0.Â
Once you have Python already, mobidedrm.py will remove the DRM from MOBI eBooks, for example, and you can buy MOBIs using any web browser. This is a command-line program, which means that it is no harder to use for Linux than from Windows.
