Can you help me connect to splunk? I tried to configure splunk and connect to the splunkbase using the proxy from my environment. However, when I try to connect to the splunkbase it did not work.
 Could anyone help me?Â

The basic installation for splunk takes about ten minutes, but I will give you this procedure for setting up splunk on the same server as zenoss which will later integrate both of them.
You can thereafter use splunk to connect to a zenoss database on MySQL.
Free version of splunk will allow you the following:
You will need to download Splunk link:
When the download is done, Install rpm -Uvh splunk-2.2.3-18173.i386.rpm
Then start Splunk: /opt/splunk/bin/splunk start
Agree to the licensing agreement on the first start up, which will be a bit too long.
Thereafter go to your browser to access the service:
Open your browser, and then go to this link http://host.example.org:8000
