I get an error in VMware vConverter

Whenever I try to convert a physical machine remotely or local, it gives me an error at 95% “FAILED: The request refers to an unexpected or unknown type.” Can anyone help me, please?

[N.B. Software/Hardware used: ESX]

I get an error in VMware vConverter

Hi,

Although you receive this error message from the vCenter converter, this is actually an issue with the volume shadow copy service on the windows operating system. You can verify this from windows event viewer, where you can see the related volume shadow copy service error.

VMware vCenter uses the windows VSS components on windows systems

This issue can also occur if there are any FAT volumes enabled for conversion, the volume shadow copy service does not support FAT file system and supports only NTFS file system. Uncheck the FAT volumes or convert them to NTFS to proceed with the conversion progress.
