Carbon Copy (CC) Field on Outlook 2010 Mail is missing

Hi Everyone,

This is my first time to encounter an issue in Microsoft Outlook 2010 ever since I have upgraded from 2007. I am using a Windows 7 Operating System.

Once I have checked the configuration of my Mailbox, I tried sending a test email and it went fine. After that, I decided to send an email already to my friends. When I am about to include recipients, I noticed that the CC Field is not there. I am trying to look for the option for it to be viewed, but it appeared that the setting is correct. But, how come the CC field is not there?

Help please.

Hello Justine,

One of the reasons why this happened is that your Outlook may have not upgraded properly; or, we just need to check the settings of your Outlook 2010, maybe the settings are just hidden.

  1. Open your Outlook 2010.
  2. Click on the New Email icon to open a new email as if you were going to send an email.
  3. Click on Options at the top of the mail message.
  4. There should be an option there to choose which fields you want shown, such as CC, BCC, From.
  5. Every time you compose a message, those fields that you've chosen should show up. You can just click on it again if you don't want them shown.
E-mail Options

Hope this works!

Hi Justine Baileys,

This is a common problem when someone new in using outlook. By default, the options for cc and BCC are not shown in outlook. Please adopt the following steps one by one in following order

  1. Click the option create mailing or new mail as given in your outlook version.
  2. Go to the View tab in the upper menu and select All headers as shown in the picture below.

CC is used as Carbon Copy in which you put those email addresses to whom you want to send a copy of this mail. BCC is Blind Carbon Copy in which you put those email addresses to whom you don’t want to show your other recipients of the mail.
