Hi,

Graphic and picture files can be imported  if you use Microsoft word, all of them can be imported into new or existing document. When you use graphic/photo tool to import, it will first convert the entire file imported into a format that can be used by Word document to display also to print. If you want to import CGM (Computer Graphics Meta File) into word document, you will need to install graphic converter (this is separate from Word) before you can import it to the word document.

The CGM graphic fields can be used to work with text-based graphics, 2D vector graphics and also raster graphics. For your information, after the CGM files imported into word document, you can print it.

Hope this can help

The “CGM” file format (*.cgm) stands for “Computer Graphics Metafile”. It is a free, open international standard file format for 2D vector graphics, raster graphics, and text defined by ISO/IEC 8632. This file format is commonly used in presentation graphics and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) applications.

It supports three different encoding methods: binary which is best for program read speed, cleartext encoding which allows users to read and modify the file with a text editor, and character-based which produces the smallest file size and allows for faster data transfer.

If you need to insert a CGM file in your Microsoft Office Word document, open the file first with Adobe Illustrator and then export it using the JPG file format. Once the file is saved in JPG format, you can now insert it in your Microsoft Office Word document. See if this works.
