Hi, I am unable to boot into my Windows 10 as it is stuck at the start-up screen with 0x490 error. How can I fix the 0x490 Windows 10 error? I followed some instructions to boot my PC in safe mode, but it did not help.
You can try the following methods to solve the 0x490 Windows 10 error. Go to the next if the first one does not solve your problem.
Method 1 – Clean Boot
a. Press Windows + R.
b. In the Run dialogue box, type MSConfig and click OK.
c. Match the settings with the picture above under the General tab.
d. Go to the Services tab.
e. Click on Hide all Microsoft services.
f. Click on Disable all.
g. Click on Apply->Ok.
h. Restart your PC.
i. Now, you will be able to boot into Windows 10.
Method 2-
a. Insert the Windows 10 CD or USB.
b. If you do not have Windows 10 drive, create an ISO from Microsoft Website.
c. You need to select time & currency, language, input method.
d. Click Next.
e. Click on Repair your computer.
f. Select the Operating System.
g. Click Next.
h. Open the Command Prompt Admin.
i. Type Bootrec.exe.
j. Hit enter.
k. Restart your PC.
l. Your error will no longer be there.
