How To Execute Windows 2003 Extend C Drive Operation?

Hi, there are several ways to execute Windows 2003 extend c drive operation. Some of them are Diskpart command-line, Server Partition software, or through computer management. Here I am going to explain the way for extending C: drive for virtual server through computer management. To expand C drive on a server with virtual machine.

  1. First, allocate a hard disk with size like 20 or 30GB as you desired for VM disk, then click ok.
  2. Now in the Windows server 2008 system, go to “Computer Management-> Storage->Disk Management”. Then right-click on Disk and click “Extend Volume”. In the “Extend Volume Wizard” window, click “Next”.
  3. Select the disk that contains unallocated space, which we created through VMWare workstation and then click “Add” then “Next”. You can also decide on the size if you want some more. Then click “Finish” to close the wizard.
  4. If the unallocated disk is not adjacent to C: drive, then you can also install certain software for this,v and allocate the C: drive by shrinking other disk and merging it with C: drive.
