I had to format my computer due to a virus attack. I have all my data backed up on an external hard drive. I need to restore backup from the external hard drive to my computer now. What are the steps to do that? Thanks.
How To Restore Backup From External Hard Drive?
This depends on what has been backed up. If it is music, movies, documents, etc., the data can just be copy- pasted from the hard drive to the computer easily. Otherwise, the best way to restore a data backup from an external or internal hard drive is by using data recovery software. EaseUS Data Recovery is convenient software for the purpose and can do the job in a matter of few clicks. Please follow the following steps for restoring the backup after installing the EaseUS Data Recovery. Open EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard.
Choose the type of files that you wish to recover. Click Next. Select the Hard Disk from where the data was lost. Click Scan. The disk will be scanned by the software to find the particular target files. You can even scan partitions that were made to your hard disk before the data was lost by clicking on Lost Disk Drives. Click Scan to carry on recovering of files. After the software is done scanning for recoverable files, they will be listed on the preview. Select or remove files that you need and then select Recover. The files will have been restored.
For further backup, store all files that were recovered on a separate disk to prevent data over-writing.
