As the world is growing tremendously, it is essential for every child to have access to computer with available internet connection but with this technology it is difficult to keep children away from those bad aspects of internet. It is the parent’s duty to check whether the children are learning the right thing or not. For this purpose, there is an add-on available in Firefox which is really helpful for parents to keep their children safe. You can download this add-on from Firefox add-on section and the name of this add-on is ProCon Latte. With this addon available you can easily filter the content for children.

Hello Sumon,

The solution for your problem is below :

Nowadays the internet is becoming more and more dangerous day by day and also children of this future generation are attracted towards that.

– First of all if the child's computer is in their private room then it should not be there but it should be in the Hall, Office, or in the living room so due to lack of privacy, they keep themselves away from doing bad things.

– Next is to child's email's and online profile must be checked by the parents so that it can be known that with whom they are talking and what they are doing on this social networking site.

– Block some of the "Bad Sites" with safety features, provided by internet service provider, so that your child can't visit.

– Parents should share an email account with their child so that they can view their messages.

Hope this would be helpful to you.

Thanks.

Surfing the net is not a bad thing at all for children. But you should have a careful eye on them about what sites they are surfing.

The following tips could help to protect our children from being unaware victim of harmful sites.

• Aware the children to be very careful about downloading free games, music, animated toolbars and such other free downloads. Also aware them not to download any software from any unknown source. It would be better if they take your permission before downloading anything from the net.

• Your web browser has some built in features that can be used to protect your child. Internet explorer (and other browsers, too) allows you to set the security levels to websites. You can take the advantage of the security and privacy settings options.

• Reviewing the history of browsing can be a good idea for keeping your child under observation.  To view the history of browsing, simply click on the History button located in the toolbar of any web browser.

• Using the antivirus and anti-spyware is a well practiced method of detecting, disabling and removing viruses, spyware, malware and other unwanted harmful software. Microsoft Security Essential is such a software which can be downloaded for free. It works on Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP.

• Social networking can be a potential threat. Children can discuss about a number of things during chatting including wanted and unwanted topics. Educate your ward to follow some simple rules like not disclosing their password, phone numbers, addresses, real names etc. Also teach them to refrain from sending photographs. They should not meet any online friend in real world unless they are under well supervision.

• You can configure your instant messaging software in such a way that only approved contacts can send instant messages. No stranger will be able to contact your child in this way.
