You cannot open a Microsoft Access file on Ubuntu. The best thing to do is to recreate the Database using MySQL.
Most people think that MySQL is a Really hard thing to learn well it is not.
Using the Ubuntu Software Center install MysqlWorkbench Which Gives a GUI to make Databases.

There is a software that you can install in Ubuntu and be able to read the contents of the database file.
Jackcess supports all the access file formats right from Access 97 up to the latest 2010 format.
You can download it using Ubuntu Software Center or from the site .
