I recently purchased Microsoft Windows 8 Operating System. I am on a network where once in a while I would like to change the IP address. Can someone explain to me how to change IP address on x8? Any assistance will highly be appreciated. Thank you so much.

To change your IP address in Windows 8, follow the following steps;
Step1: Swipe left from the right side of the screen and select settings
Step2: Select Control Panel.
Step3: In Control Panel select Category and then select Small icons.
Step4: Select Network and sharing center.
Step5: Select change adapter settings.
Step6: Right click on the adapter which is connected and then select properties.
Step7: Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
Step8: Select Use the following IP address and Use the following DNS server addresses to change your computer's IP address and/or DNS server addresses.
Step9: Ok to save
There are many ways to change your IP on Windows 8. One of it are the steps provided below on how to automatically change your IP on Windows 7 and 8:
1. Click Start> Control Panel.
2. Click on the Network and Internet and then choose the Network and Sharing Center. And then choose the Change Adapter Settings on the left side.
3. Select your network card and then right-click into it and choose Properties.
4. On the Networking tab, select Internet Protocol Version 4 or the TCP/IPv4 or the Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and then click on Properties.
5. On the next dialog box,You can see the Obtain an IP Address Automatically option and the Use the Following IP Address option. Select the Obtain an IP address Automatically to automatically change your IP. The Use the following IP Address option is to configure your proxy manually.
6. Click OK and your IP is changed.

Changing IP address is quite similar to the previous versions of windows in Windows 8. Change your IP address in following way in windows 8:
1. Go to “Control Panel” from “Settings”.
2. From “Network and Sharing Centre”select “Change adapter setting” from the left panel.
3. Right click on the connected network icon and select Properties.
4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCIP/IPv4). Then select Properties.
5. Select Use the following IP address and Use the following DNS server addresses to change your computer's IP address and/or DNS server addresses.
If you use the DHCP server then select “Obtain an IP address automatically.” Then click OK and save. Now your new setting is complete for communication.
If you want to change your IP address,then you can follow the steps given below
Go to start->Run->type
ipconfig/release
ipconfig/renew
You can also change your IP by resetting your modem if it is dynamic.After changing it you can check your new ip address on the site http://www.ip-details.com/

If you want to change your IP address then you have to use a proxy server so that you can get your desired result. But if you want a permanent solution then you have to use HOTSPOT shield and every time you use your internet then you can automatically get converted to any other IP address. So you can do that in an easy way by using a shield.
