Hello Angela,

First you need to open the PDF file which you want to insert the drop down menu. There is a menu called 'Tools' in Acrobat X. From Tools menu select option 'Forms'. When you select Forms option you can view number of input types from the submenu. From the sub menu select 'List Box Tool'. After you click on the 'List Box Tool' the cursor will convert to a plus sign. Now click one time on the place of the document where you needed to add the drop down list. You can resize this by holding down the left mouse. When you release the mouse a Properties window will appear. From that you can change the properties of the drop down list.

To add the items to the drop down list use the 'Options' tab. Type your list items in the 'Item" field and press 'Add'. Repeat this step for add more items to the drop down list. Finally click on the 'Action' tab and select 'Select Trigger' and then from that select 'Mouse Down' option. After you finish adjusting the drop down list, click on the 'Close' button on the 'Properties' window.
