I faced a problem while creating a backup using an external hard drive on Windows 10. I disabled the Windows Defender and started VSS, but I encountered the 0x807800a1 error. How can I fix the error?

How Can I Fix The 0x807800a1 Error In Windows 10?

You did a good job by enabling VSS and disabling the Windows Defender. Further, to solve the 0x807800a1, you need to start the Workstation service.

a. Press Windows + R on your keyboard.

b. Type services.msc, and press enter.

c. Double-click on the Workstation service.

d. Set the startup type to automatic.

e. Start the service.

f. Try the backup.

If you have Microsoft Starter 2010, un-install it.

a. Press Windows + R on the keyboard.

b. Type appwiz.cpl, and press enter.

c. Click on Microsoft Office Starter 2010.

d. Click on Uninstall.

e. Complete the process.

f. Try the backup.
