Gnome lockdown of settings after checking properties

Ubuntu Intrepic 8.10 is my operating system and I am having trouble with my gnome panel.

As I click the right mouse button at the top of the gnome panel and then go to properties, the attached message pops-up saying “The folder contents could not be displayed.

Error stating file ‘/tmp/evince-6347’: No such file or directory”.

If I close the error message, the properties window shows ‘Some of these properties are locked down.’

Do you have any suggestions as it is quite troublesome for me.

Errok stating file ‘/tmplevince-6347’: No such file or directory

Hey guy!

Just follow my instruction for you to fix your problem.  Go to Applications then System tools then configuration editor.

When you are in the configuration editor you need to expand aps, panels and toplevels.

Then check image property of the file on the error message that is displayed it is in top_panel_screen0 on the left side, then delete that path and of course the filename in the image property field.

After this step, right click on the panel and click “allow panel to move” This will change the panel orientation.

Then reboot your system.

I hope it will solve your problem.
