G mail doesn't really call it folders but what they call filters work just like folders. What to do to create this bypass of some mails into a particular filter is clicking create a filter then enter your desired criteria, to get all mails from somebody filtered type the email address of the person on the from field then click next ensure you check the skip the inbox.

Check apply the  labels, select an existing label's folder from the choose label's menu. At this point get the new label selected, type the desired name for the label or folder then click ok.

You can even choose to move the existing mails from your chosen address to the filter by applying filter to conversations. Then click create filter. You should keep the label box on it and an eye on it to enable the new messages matching your criteria to move to the filter. i hope this will serve you well.

You can use the filter mechanism because it allows you to assign labels to emails automatically based on a given conditions. As you may have noticed, Gmail does not have folders, it has labels. The way in which labels differ from folder is that an email can have many labels applied to it but can only be associated with one folder.

To create a filter, click the “create a filter” link beside the search bar at the top of the Gmail interference. Then fill out the criteria that will trigger a message to be automatically filtered. You can use the Test Search button to make sure the conditions are suitable for what you are trying to accomplish.
