Hello Abbigail,

When creating a trusted file location, you will need to ensure that the trusted data connection libraries are embedded as well as selected. That is very crucial in order to enable Powerpivot access in a workbook. Also make sure that you have cleared the checkbox in case the Refresh warning has been enabled.

Regards,

Nicke

Hi Abbigailantonia,
The error is because some of the system settings are missing.
To resolve this error follow the steps mentioned below:
1) Click 'Start', Click 'All Programs'
2) Click 'SharePoint 2010 Products'
3) Click 'SharePoint 2010 Management Shell', Click 'Run as Administrator'
4) Type 'Get-SpServiceInstance', '$claims=get-spserviceinstance-identity'
5) Set the value '$claims.service.ProcessIdentity.CurrentIdentityType=0'
6) Type the commands, $claims.Service.ProcessIdentity.Update(), $claims.ProcessIdentity.Deploy() and press enter
7) After the process is completed, reboot the server and test the Power Pivot workbook
