I am trying to add new friends in my yahoo messenger`s address book but I couldn’t do it properly. It`s saying that:
There was an error in the server while trying to add a contact. Please try again.
Please let me know what the problem is in my messenger?

Really it’s very disturbing if we can’t do the regular job with a well known software like Yahoo messenger. I think it’s not a problem with the server. Just check the total list and find out the contacts which didn’t respond to friend request. Delete those contacts. Start Yahoo messenger again. You can add contact now.

Sometimes if the server is bad, your request to add contacts can take longer time than expected to complete which can lead to that message, error in the server. Please if you continue to experience this error often, I suggest you should contact yahoo customer care service by submitting a support ticket directly  for possible assistance.
