When I try to open MS Word files from my removable disk, it says " Word found unreadable content . Do you want to recover the contents of this document? If you trust the source of this document, click Yes."

Some of the documents are very important to me.

Please help

Hi!

Make sure that your required file is not password protected if so please unlock its password. Secondly files on removable disks are most likely to be affected by virus programs so it my suggestion that scan those files with some powerful Antivirus software and then try to open them. Click YES to recover option for the content.

Another important point is that make sure that you have a latest version installed on your computer for opening the required files.

Hope it helps.

Elsa,

One way that you may be able to open your documents is to rename them as text files.  I would make backups of them first and then rename them, once this is done and your able to get them open you can once again save them as .doc files.
