I am in a fix and don’t know what to do with the problem I am facing. And the problem is “NTLDR is missing”.
Every time I start windows it results in the message I posted above. I am left with no choice, either to switch off computer or restart it by pressing “Ctrl + Alt+ Del”. I am new to computer world so don’t know exactly what this error is.
What are its causes and solutions?
So can anyone here help me out?

Well it often happened due to any one of the following causes.
-

-
Hard disk is not properly setup in BIOS.
-
Corrupt boot sector or master boot record.
-
Windows 2000 or XP version is seriously corrupted.
-
Failing to enable USB keyboard support in BIOS
The NTLDR file is so important for booting for all versions of windows like XP, Vista and Windows 7 etc. It is present in the main hard disk of the PC. Sometimes when this file becomes corrupted then user has to reinstall windows in order to repair this file.
-
Simply follow below steps to resolve the problem.
-
Insert Windows XP installation CD.

When repair option appears on screen, press X
-
To reinstall windows option to correct this error press the option that matches. (Normally 1)
-
Type the following commands
-
Copy D-Drive:i386NTLDR C:
-
COPY D-Drive:i386NTLDR.COM C:

Exit and press Enter to reboot your system.
The error mostly occurs when system is trying to boot from some non-bootable device like floppy etc. So make sure that you are not attached with any floppy and if it is then it has proper settings to boot from. If floppy has all settings but it is corrupt even then the problem may occur.
