I wanted to watch a video, but I am not sure if the MKV format will be played in VLC media player or not. I want know how to play MKV files in VLC media player?

Well, I would tell you that MKV format is supported in VLC media player. Today, the driver updates of the system and the software updates of the particular software allows you to play MKV files in VLC media player. There are two ways to play MKV files in VLC media player.

1.) Download the latest version of the LC media player as it is completely compatible with the system and allows you to play MKV format files in it.

2.) Convert the MKV files in mp4 format. Either don’t download the files in MKV format or you can convert it through convertors present online or can download any convertor app.

It is the kind of file format that can hold unlimited number of videos, audios, pictures, or subtitle tracks in just one file. It is designed to serve as a universal format for storing common multimedia content like TV shows and movies. The MKV file format (.mkv) is the one used for video which may contain audio and subtitles. The MK3D file format (.mk3d) is used for stereoscopic video.

The MKA file format (.mka) is used for audio files only while the MKS file format (.mks) is for subtitles only.
