GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) error with selection tool

Asked By 0 points N/A Posted on -

Hey there, experts!

I am using GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) and I often use the program's selection tool. However, when I move the selection tool, the program hangs and I get the following error:

** (gimp-2.0.exe:1620): WARNING **: Couldn't load font "Microsoft Sans Serif Italic 8" falling back to "Sans Italic 8"

I badly need your help on this. Thanks a lot!

GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) error with selection tool

I think the application GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) is having some problems in loading some fonts, particularly the Microsoft Sans Serif font. Microsoft Sans Serif is a TrueType font indicated by its extension name .TTF. It is possible that type of font style is somewhat corrupted. Try reinstalling the fonts used by your operating system. Since you are not using a Windows operating system, try reinstalling the fonts from your operating system’s installer CD.

If reinstalling the fonts did not solve your problem with GIMP, try uninstalling then reinstalling the application to restore the application’s settings back to default.
