Desktop version of android OS

Are there any desktop version android OS. I wanted to have a genuine desktop android OS not the mobile OS. Can anyone suggest where it is available for downloading it.

Desktop version of android OS

Hi Mary,

 

You are looking for an Android OS for Desktop PC. Well, Android is a Linux based OS which is widely used in many smart-phones like Samsung, HTC, etc. You will glad to know that you can download and install many Android OS specially designed for your Laptop/Desktop machine.  Currently Android OS for desktop is available for X-86 based machines. You must note that there are not so many desktop/laptops machines that can support Android OS because Android has just made its market share in some recent years. So, you must have to wait if your machine is not in the supported list.  You can download the ISO package from this site Android-x86 – Porting Android to x86. Most probably you’ll just have to use a Flash Drive (Boot supported motherboard) along with a desktop machine or a Laptop to install Android OS.
