What will happen to the documents when deleting the from my Mac computer?

I am using ‘Pages’ which I like to use. I have downloaded the All the documents which I have created on Pages, when opening again, it is opening with the ‘Open Office’ without opening in ‘Pages’. I have no idea why this is happening. I need to avoid the ‘Open Office’ and I am worried about my documents. Please help me to get out of the ‘open Office’ without losing documents.

It may be that the Pages application you are referring to was setup in a manner to open it in Office instead of Pages. You might want to try to go to the properties of one of you Pages, then choose the application you have been using before as the default application instead of
